I hope you enjoy!
This song talks about the shattered hope of being a refugee in search of a safe home. The neglect of life that countries have been presenting with those who seek a dignified life without bombs addressed to innocents, children, the elderly, young people, parents, mothers, the LGBTQ + community and various forms of life that they love and feel on a scaffold and with a crosshair on his back. They and we do not ask for wars, we do not ask for revenge, we do not choose to live in war zones, much less choose to invade other people's lands to take advantage of their fruits. The Earth belongs to life and, therefore, to everyone who lives on it.
The bloody hands that close borders are also responsible for the deaths of thousands, in the seas, in refugee camps, in sponsoring a meaningless genocide and for the racist and xenophobic culture that settles in our streets and cities.
Here in Brazil, we are also not being kind to Venezuelan, Colombian, Haitian, Syrian refugees ... we were never good at welcoming even migrants from our own soil.
I would like to be able to bring everyone to my home, work together on the land, reaping the fruits that it gives us. Unfortunately, I can not!
So this song is a simple gesture of compassion and also a cry for alert and help so that we look more affectionately at those who are just looking to rebuild their lives. In particular, in this dark moment when humanity is fighting a pandemic. They continue to suffer from leaving their lives, friends and family behind. They continue to struggle to survive the cold, hunger, police, army, borders and now the covid-19.
Refugees are always welcome!
